INDIMA YETHU

Indima Yethu Worker-Owner Prospectus 2026

APPLICATIONS OPEN: 17 August 2026 | CLOSE: 3 September 2026 | Only 900 Positions Available Nationwide

Indima Yethu Worker Co-operative Ltd is inviting South African youth aged 18 to 35 to become worker-owners in a new economy. This is not a job where you work for someone else’s profit. This is ownership. This is your role. This is ours to build together.

For too long, young South Africans have been told to wait for jobs. At Indima Yethu, we are creating the jobs and giving you the ownership to go with them. We are proving that when workers own the business, productivity goes up, communities get stronger, and wealth stays in South Africa.

What is Indima Yethu?

"Indima" means role or contribution in isiXhosa. "Yethu" means ours. Indima Yethu is a registered worker co-operative in terms of the Co-operatives Act 14 of 2005. We are legally owned and democratically controlled by the workers who do the work every day.

South Africa faces a youth unemployment crisis of over 60%. The traditional business model puts profits in the hands of a few shareholders while workers get wages only. We are changing that. At Indima Yethu, every worker-owner has one equal vote regardless of job title, shares in annual profits, and a direct say in how the business is run through our Annual General Meeting.

We are launching 900 permanent positions across 4 provinces and 4 business divisions to prove that worker ownership can work at scale in South Africa. Our goal is not just 900 jobs for 2026. Our goal is to build a model that can create 9000 jobs by 2030.

Why Worker Ownership Works

Worker ownership solves 3 problems at once: unemployment, inequality, and lack of assets. When you own the business you work for, you build wealth while you earn a salary. You are not disposable. You are an owner with a stake in the future.

Global examples prove this works. Mondragon in Spain employs over 80,000 people as worker-owners. In the USA, worker co-ops have 30% lower failure rates than traditional businesses. In South Africa, co-ops like Vukani and Izazi show that collective ownership builds community resilience.

We adapted this model for South African youth who are educated, skilled, and ready to work but locked out of ownership opportunities. As a member of Indima Yethu, you will not just get a paycheck. You will get accredited training, leadership experience, and a share of the profits you help create. This is how we build generational wealth for young South Africans.
